Sloan Lake, which is located in Northwest Denver gets its name from the large mass of water within the neighborhood which it too goes by the very same name, Sloan Lake.
You could say that the lake is the heart of the city.
The best part about the lake is that it’s huge, so big in fact that it often attracts recreational boaters and waterskiers that pack the water, and with such a spectacular view, it’s no wonder why.
You can see the city’s skyline light up the east and to the west, you get a great view of the majestic Rocky Mountains standing tall.
A site that is worth a visit to see for yourself.
A little piece of paradise, a serene spot for those who enjoy their privacy and having a place of solitude yet still want to be close to the city.
If you are one of those people who enjoy beginning or ending their day with a bit of healthy exercise, instead of jogging or strolling through the neighborhood full of house, imagine surrounding yourself with the view of the lake.
The park is not too busy in the early mornings, so you can wake up with your favorite hot coffee or beverage and watch the sunrise while you run. At the end of the day, you can find a bench on the east side of the lake to set down and watch the blue-sky change into various hues of colors as the sun descends behind the mountains.
This is also a perfect place for riding your bike, walking your dog, plenty of space for playing tennis or soccer, having a nice picnic, hang out with friends, spend quality time with family or just to get away.
No matter what you decide to do for the day or in the evening, you will be immersed by the view of the natural picture worthy beauty and the breathtaking landscape that Sloan Lake has to offer.
There are also plenty of events that take place at the lake throughout the year, but the one that deserves to be mentioned is the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, which is held every year in July.
An event where a large number of local businesses participate by decorating excessive looking Asian inspired dragon boats in order to compete against one another for prizes. The occasion also provides free music, displays martial art demonstrations, and a diverse selection of local food and drink to choose from.
